Los Angeles
Los Angeles has nonstop action and things to do, but it can be a challenge to navigate, so planning your trip in advance is a big plus. Visit Santa Monica, with a wide, uncrowded beach, a signature pier topped by carnival rides and restaurants, and outstanding shopping at Third Street Promenade and fancy Santa Monica Place shopping center (great for rooftop dining with ocean and city views). Follow the Santa Monica Boulevard northeast to visit legendary Beverly Hills, where cars with tinted windows pull up to Chanel and other deluxe boutiques along Rodeo Drive. Continue east to Hollywood to stroll the Hollywood Walk of Fame and visit TCL Chinese Theatre.

Head east to visit hip and historic downtown Los Angeles. An influx of new residents has helped energize the area, and downtown’s re-emergence has also been spurred by such attractions as Grand Park, an urban oasis with views stretching from the Music Center (including Walt Disney Concert Hall) to City Hall. Vintage buildings have been transformed. Flock to the sports and entertainment combo of Staples Center and LA LIVE, where you can also see music artifacts (Elvis’s sheet music, Michael’s glove) at the Grammy Museum and catch concerts at the Nokia Theatre. Finish your L.A. experience with a visit to Universal Studios Hollywood, with movie-themed rides and back-lot tours.

Angeleno Hotel, Los Angeles
Settle in to the Hotel Angeleno with its warm, friendly service and perfect location. Situated at the crossroads of Santa Monica, Beverly Hills and UCLA, this is a fantastic base to explore the sights and sounds of this fabulous city.

Every guest room includes complimentary valet parking, free wireless internet access and complimentary wine hour each evening in the lobby. West Restaurant is a favourite local haunt serving boutique local wines surrounded by stylish décor with 200 degree views from the downtown skyline to the Santa Monica beaches. Relax at the heated pool, work up a sweat in the fitness centre or simply enjoy a coffee in the lobby café and contemplate your itinerary for the next few days. With chic shopping, fun theme parks, movie star home tours, restaurants and theatres, Los Angeles is an exciting city to explore.

Carnival Inspiration is part of Carnival’s Fantasy Class of ships designed for groups of friends and young families to have a ball and enjoy every second on board this ship filled with fun.  There are plenty of cabins that sleep up to five and also inter-connecting cabins to accommodate friends and families.  Night entertainment is rocking with a range of bars, lounges, nightclub, casino and much more.  Days are filled with fun activities and competitions where everyone can join in the fun with parties, hairy chest contests, bean-bag toss, bingo and more.  This is definitely the ship for those looking to join in the fun with a have a go attitude.

Food is served in two main dining rooms, Mardi Gras and Carnivale, where the chef’s culinary creativity is on show day and night and on certain nights the wait staff perform dance numbers at the end of each meal.  BlueIguana Cantina serves freshly stuffed tacos and burritos or try Guy’s Burger joint inspired by Guy Fieri with an array of delicious burgers.  Brasserie Bar and Grill serves a great buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner and there are paid dining options for a special treat.  In-cabin dining is available 24/7 but who wants to dine in, this is a cruise where minimal time is spent in your cabins, there’s just too much fun to be had elsewhere.

Kids have a great time with an entertainment team and families of all ages enjoy Carnival WaterWorks with its twisting waterslides and slippery fun.  Deck 14 hosts City Sports Park, a mini-golf course and there’s a jogging track for fitness.  Whilst the kids have fun sneak off to the adult-only Serenity Retreat with hot tubs, wicker lounge chairs and a bar service.

There’s plenty of nightlife including the Punchliner Comedy Club, Avant Gard Karaoke Lounge, Rhapsody in Blue piano bar with live sing along, Rock and Roll Dance Club, packed in the late-night hours.  The Monte Carlo Casino has all the gaming tables you could desire as well as arcade-style games.  The bar scene on Carnival Inspiration is brilliant with every style of bar to enjoy so when the sun goes down the party continues.  Inspirations troupe of singers and dancers perform the line’s Playlist Productions musical reviews and the Hasbro, the Game Show has audience participation of family board games such as “Operation” and “Yahtzee”.  Sea days are filled with activities, watch a towel-folding demonstration as well as Seuss-a-Palooza Story Time, a dramatization of The Cat in the Hat, again with audience participation.

Cabins on Carnival Inspiration are spacious and there are many options for extra berths hence the popularity with friends and families.  Both connecting cabins and suites are great options for families or groups.  Suites are essentially balcony cabins with a sofa bed, coffee table and small balcony with two chairs and a drinks table.  There is also a VIP check in for suite passengers to enjoy.  The Penthouse Suites are superb, 850 square foot cabins with a bar area, mini-fridge and floor-to-ceiling window that opens onto a balcony with two recliners, two upright chairs and two drinks tables.

Luxor Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas
The Luxor Hotel and Casino, proudly towers 30 stories high and is easily one of the most recognizable hotels on the strip.  Its unique dark bronze glass pyramid structure is guarded by a 10 story high replica of the Great Sphinx of Giza and with two additional towers added to the hotel, it now has over 4,000 contemporary designed rooms. The Luxor Hotel & Casino is home to the instantly identifiable world class landmark, the Luxor Light Beam, the strongest light on the planet which could be used to read a newspaper 10 miles out in space should you so desire.  Seen from the International Space Station, the Luxor Light Beam is one of the main attractions on the Las Vegas Strip.

The Luxor Hotel and Casino is located at the South end of “The Strip” between the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino and the Excalibur Hotel. With an indoor walkway and tram running between them, it is easy to explore each resort without leaving the luxury of the cool, air-conditioned interior.  With the Retail Sky Bridge connecting the Luxor Hotel to the Mandalay Bay Resort, shopping is a joy; empty suitcases on the outward journey are a definite advantage.
