Costsaver believe that the most important part of travelling is the memories that you make along the way, and that’s why their holidays are always superb value for money. On your travels, there is an expert Travel Director on hand to help, 3 and 4-star accommodations, luxury coach transport, city tours and lots of meals provided. You’ll have plenty of time to treat yourself to a range of Optional Experiences or discover the hidden gems in the locations you visit in your own way. Costsaver’s holidays are designed for independent travellers who have the initiative and creativity to search for exciting places to explore; they’ll take care of the finer details so that you can spend more time enjoying your customisable holiday.

Firstly, arrive in Nashville, ‘Music City, USA’ where you will have some time to settle into your room at the Clarion Nashville Downtown Stadium before meeting your Travel Director in the afternoon. In the heart of Nashville, near the Nissan Stadium and Tennessee State Capitol, it’s easy to soon feel at home in one of the comfortable, modern guestrooms featuring an abundance of amenities, including complimentary Wi-Fi access, an indoor pool and fitness centre, gift shop and a complimentary shuttle service. Guest rooms feature flat screen TVs, mini refrigerators, microwaves and air conditioning. The next morning enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast before touring Nashville, seeing the Tennessee State Capitol and Centennial State Park, home to the only full-size replica of the Parthenon in Athens in the world.

Next, explore the lively centre of Nashville’s entertainment industry at Music Row and visit Studio B where Dolly Parton amongst other famous artists recorded some of their albums. Then go to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and see memorabilia from country stars such as Loretta Lynn and Hank Williams. The afternoon is free for you to continue exploring Nashville or make use of the hotel’s indoor pool. This evening, enjoy a live recording session at the Grand Ole Opry, which houses America’s longest-running live radio programme. The next day in Nashville is also free for you to savour Nashville’s various different attractions. Visit the Johnny Cash museum or head to the Belle Meade Plantation. Your knowledgeable Travel Director will be around to help you plan your day, including helping to book a self-guided tour through Ryman Auditorium or a guided tour of the Belle Meade Plantation.

The next morning, it’s time to drive to Memphis, a city famous for its musical history, particularly famous for the iconic Elvis Presley. Enjoy a brief tour of the city, taking in sites like the Memphis Pyramid and the elegant Peabody Hotel. You’ll also see the Mississippi River before stopping in the Victoria Village neighbourhood to see stunning houses from a bygone era. On your travels, pass the Lorraine Motel, where Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated. This evening is free to spend as you wish, perhaps enjoying the brand new Guest House at Graceland, a unique way to experience this famous landmark. Just steps away from Elvis’ Graceland Mansion, live like a star and embrace Southern hospitality from the moment you check-in. Modern guestrooms include a refrigerator, Keurig coffee brewer, safe, spa-like shower, 50” HD flat screen TV and ironing facilities. At the hotel, there’s also an oversized outdoor pool and hot tub, fitness room and 464 seat theatre for live performances and movie showings.

The next morning, enjoy an Iconic Breakfast served Southern family-style at one of Memphis’ oldest cafes. After breakfast visit Sun Studios, where Elvis was discovered, followed by a musical ‘pilgrimage’ to Graceland, purchased by the ‘King’ himself when he was just 22 years old. The rest of the day can be spent as you like, and your Travel Director will help you to arrange any additional activities for the day., such as a visit to the Memphis Rock ‘N Soul museum and dinner at the famous Blue’s City Café. The next day is also free to enjoy at your own pace. Spend the day further exploring Memphis or head out on an excursion: a Backbeats Musical Mojo Tour will take you on a music bus with a Beale Street musician around Memphis’ musical hotspots; an Elvis Presley Birthplace Tour will take you to Elvis’ birthplace in Tupelo, with the opportunity to see where he lived for 13 years and other notable sites from his life.

Leave Memphis the next day, heading towards Natchez on the Mississippi River, passing by remarkable scenery on the Natchez Trace Parkway. Along the way, you will learn about the historical significance of the Old Trace before arriving in Natchez, seeing its many antebellum homes which remained unscathed during the plight of the South. This evening, home is at the Hampton Inn and Suites, Natchez. You’ll have easy access to shops, restaurants and the lively nightlife in the famed Under-the-Hill area thanks to the hotel’s superb location. Guest rooms feature TVs with cable channels, free Wi-Fi access, a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker, so it’s easy to soon feel at home. You can also relax by the outdoor pool and get your muscles moving at the free fitness centre.

Enjoy the Hampton’s free hot breakfast and sample the divine waffles for yourself before heading south to New Orleans, passing over the longest bridge over water in the world. A Local Specialist for a city tour will meet you, with highlights including the French Market, Jackson Square, St Louis Cathedral, the Garden District and an above-ground cemetery offering a unique outlook on life and death. The evening is free to enjoy New Orleans’ cultural wonders or simply relax at your hotel for the evening, the Wyndham French Quarter, New Orleans. A plethora of amenities are offered to guests, including complimentary Wi-Fi, fitness centre and the only indoor heated swimming pool in the French Quarter. Warm, welcoming rooms feature complimentary bottled water, a flat screen HDTV, and hair dryer, as well as plush beds for a comfortable, refreshing night’s sleep.

The next day in New Orleans is yours to enjoy, with a range of optional activities available. Visit the French Quarter for a jazz brunch and city walking tour, head out of the city to see the resident alligators and raccoons or go for an evening jazz cruise along the Mississippi River. The next day is also free to embrace at your own pace, and there are plenty more activities to enjoy. From a cooking demonstration and meal combining local flavours from talented chefs, to a visit to Oak Alley Plantation, revisiting the glamour of the Antebellum Era at one of the world’s most photographed plantations. After your final night at the Wyndham, it’s time to check-out and finish your adventure. Say goodbye to your new travelling friends and mark the end of a fantastic adventure.
