San Diego, Santa Monica & Palm Springs – three fantastic Californian destinations all wrapped up into one amazing holiday – lets get ready yo hit the road!

San Diego

Welcome to San Diego and the wonderful Hotel Del Coronado, your home away from home for the first three nights of your American Adventure. Originally built in 1888, this historic hotel once acted as an elegant backdrop for Marilyn Monroe in the classic movie “Some Like it Hot” and includes Thomas Edison and Frank Sinatra amongst its equally impressive roll of previous guests. The hotel’s stunning beachside setting along the silver sands of Coronado Island provides easy access to a host of exciting Watersports and outdoor adventures with lots of trendy restaurants and boutique shops also handily located within walking distance of the resort.

Friendly and knowledgeable, the hotel staff will happily help you with your daily itinerary; spend the morning browsing the shops and galleries dotted along Orange Avenue, Coronado’s main street before heading to the beach for a lazy afternoon by the sea.

Downtown San Diego is only a short drive or a 15 minute ferry trip away – make sure you take the time to visit the Gaslamp Quarter famous for its many restaurants and exciting nightlife. One of the best ways to explore San Diego without getting lost, is aboard the Old Town Trolley, discover how San Diego became the birthplace of California on this two hour, eight stop, narrated tour.

Other popular San Diego attractions include the USS Midway Museuim, San Diego Zoo, Legoland, Belmont Park, Sea World, Balboa Park and Aquatica Waterpark – lots to squeeze in during your three night stay in exciting San Diego.

Palm Springs

Next stop Greater Palm Springs and three nights at La Quinta Resort and Spa, a Waldorf Astoria resort and an exclusive desert hideaway nestling beneath the Santa Rosa Mountains in the iconic Coachella Valley. A golfer’s paradise, this luxurious desert retreat has an amazing array of amenities offer including five championship golf courses, 23 tennis courts, 41 outdoor pools, seven unique restaurants and a luxurious Spa & Beauty Salon, and a fitness centre – there really is something for everyone at this amazing, family friendly resort.

Well-appointed Spanish style casitas and villa accommodations are spread throughout this idyllic 45 acre desert hideaway featuring either pool, garden or mountain views. Some of the larger villa style accommodations feature private pools and patios, along with fireplaces and four poster beds.

Enjoy a stroll around the resort’s gardens before browsing your favourite brand in shops around the main plaza, chill out poolside with your favourite cocktail, enjoy a set or two on one of the resort’s 23 tennis courts or sharpen up your swing with a lesson or two form the PGA trained staff at the Golf Academy – do as much or as little as you like at this fantastic resort.

Beyond the resort itself the surrounding valley offers an amazing array of outdoor activities including hiking, biking, and desert ATV jeep tours- try an evening ATV jeep tour for amazing views of the desert sky. Don’t miss a trip on the Greater Palm Spring’s Arial Tramway. It’s the world’s largest rotating tramway rising to a height of 8516 feet on a breath-taking two and a half mile journey along the cliffs of Chino Canyon before finally arriving at the pristine wilderness of Mount San Jacinto State Park.
