About Eastern Canada Wilderness Experience

Description

Discover the history and attractions of Montreal and Québec City along with the spectacular outdoors on your amazing Canadian escape.  This multi centre holiday provides the perfect mix of city sights and wilderness adventures.

Montreal

Welcome to Montreal, there’s no better way to experience Montreal’s Golden Square Mile than by staying at the Le Meridien Versailles Hotel, a stylish and modern boutique style hotel with an enviable setting close to all the glitz and glamour of Montreal’s Golden Square Mile.

Just moments away from restaurants, galleries, shops and historic monuments, Le Meridien Versailles Hotel provides the perfect location for exploring Montreal’s past whilst having access to a plethora of luxurious amenities. The hotel’s restaurant, Maiolo Montreal is open for breakfast, and lunch and also serves up savoury seasonal Italian cuisine for dinner.

Guestrooms at Le Meridien Versailles Hotel come fully-equipped with an abundance of amenities to make your stay relaxing and comfortable. Plush beds come with pillow top mattresses while bathrooms feature bathrobes and Malin & Goetz toiletries. Guest rooms also boast LCD TVs, a mini-bar, safe, ironing facilities, and a radio. You can also stay connected with loved ones back home with complimentary Wi-Fi and enjoy complimentary access to the hotel’s compact fitness centre.

Montreal is packed full of things to explore, and your hotel’s prime location means you can spend less time travelling to and from attractions. Notre Dame Basilica offers guided tours around the exquisite interior, where everything you will see has been carved, painted and covered in gold leaf, as well as learning more about its construction, art and architecture. Six evenings a week, the Basilica comes alive with a spectacular light show, which is a unique way to experience Notre Dame’s majestic architecture. The Latin Quarter echoes Paris’ own Latin Quarter, featuring theatres, boutiques and cafes and restaurants with typically Parisian terraces. Visit Mount Royal Park for stunning views of Montreal’s modern skyline and enjoy peaceful moments as you watch the world go by.

Saint-Alexis-des-Monts

Leave the bustling city of Montreal behind and head to Hotel Sacacomie for the next three nights of your Eastern Canadian adventure. Settle into forest luxury in this breath-taking hotel, which is nestled in the heart of a forest, near Lake Sacacomie. Featuring a hotel restaurant with delicious dishes served throughout the day, you can dine in style with stunning views of Lake Sacacomie in the background or savour creative cocktails and local beers at the cosy hotel bar, which opens onto an oversized terrace surrounded by scenic landscapes and sweeping lake views. Let go of your worries at the GEOS Spa, with outdoor facilities including a dry sauna with Lake Sacacomie views, bath and cold waterfall, mountainside hot tubs, relaxation area around a wood fire and a heated sidewalk. Indoor amenities include a eucalyptus steam bath, hot tub, solarium with a fireplace and remarkable views, swimming pool and massage rooms.

Whatever the season, there’s always something to do at this year-round resort. In summer, head out on Lake Sacacomie and try your hand at canoeing, kayaking or pedal boating in a picturesque setting, with islands in the middle of the lake and local wildlife waiting to be spotted by the lake. Go for a hike on the 65km of maintained forest trails, with plenty of rest areas to enjoy your pre-ordered lunchbox and take advantage of the scenic views. If relaxing is more your forte, head to the private beach and cool off in the pristine Lake Sacacomie waters, unwind on a sun lounger or go for a swim in the indoor swimming pool. Additional experiences which can be purchased at Hotel Sacacomie include motorboat rides on the lake and a picnic lunch, traditional rabaska trips with a guide and wintergreen tea, Commander or buggy rides in the forest with a guide, fishing trips, beaver and bear excursions and seaplane tours.

In winter, pick up some snowshoes and head out on a unique hike through the marked woodland trails; try tubing down the forest trail slopes for an instant adrenaline rush; cross-country ski through enchanting scenery on trails; tie up your ice skates and zip around the skating rink at by the hotel’s main entrance. Treat yourself to exclusive guided experiences, from broomball, similar to Canadian ice hockey, to snow shelter building, dog sledding, snowmobile trips into the Mauricie forest and ski plane tours, there’s something for everyone to discover.

With so much to experience, head back to your cosy lodge-themed guestroom to refresh. Enjoy amenities including a plush Queen size bed, full bathroom, bath robes, coffee machines, free Wi-Fi access, ironing facilities and a comfortable seating area by the window. Upgrade to enjoy lakeside views, which make the perfect backdrop to a pastel-coloured sunrise or sunset.

Québec City

For the final two nights of your stay, travel to Quebec City, where you’ll be staying at the sophisticated Hotel Chateau Laurier. This third generation family-run hotel is perfectly-situated in the centre of Quebec City. Expect world-class service standards and an array of guest facilities to guarantee a relaxing stay in this historic city. Escape the bustle of city life and unwind in an outdoor spa, Finnish sauna, go for a cooling swim in the saltwater indoor pool, or keep your workout routine going at the 24/7 fitness room. Try out one of the hotel’s wine dispensers and sample divine wines from the comfort of your room. Spend a relaxing evening at the hotel’s own restaurant St-Hubert and reflect on your trip so far before retreating to your contemporary guest room for a peaceful nights rest.

Each spacious room features traditional décor with modern touches and a laid-back ambiance, a choice of a Queen size bed, King size bed or two double beds, full bathroom, bathrobes, coffee machine, complimentary Wi-Fi access, hair dryer, air conditioning, make-up mirror in the bathroom, safe, ironing facilities and a TV with pay per view movies. Curl up with a book in a comfortable armchair or use the Wi-Fi to find somewhere new to explore or dine.

Immerse yourself in Quebec City’s French culture and visit Old Quebec, with lots of historic landmarks and museums to discover. Snap some pictures of the iconic Chateau Frontenac Hotel, wander along the Terrasse Dufferin, with undisturbed views of the city. Take the funicular to the Lower Town, and discover the Place Royale and boutiques. Stroll through the cobbled streets at the Old Port, taking in the postcard-like painted houses and an extensive collection of restaurants. For any history lovers or inquisitive visitors, head to the Citadelle of Quebec fort, a National Historic Site of Canada home to Canada’s oldest military building. It is also a fundamental part of Quebec City’s fortifications and boasts a museum with archives from Quebec’s French colonial past, as well as being the museum for the Royal 22nd Regiment of the Canadian Forces Regular Force, the only French-language infantry regiment.

With so much to explore, from natural wonders to cultural and historical points of interest, this is the best way to experience Eastern Canada’s finest cities. Stay in luxurious accommodations in a range of settings, from the heart of a forest to the centre of Old Montreal, there’s something new for everyone to enjoy exploring. Tyler
Tyler is your man! After having tried the high street and ‘main stream’ travel agents and tried to have a go at building our own holiday with little success I decided to email Travel Planners late one night with a rough outline of our hopes for a multi destination trip to America. The very next morning I received a call from Tyler Vockel.
Paula
This travel company was recommended to me by a work colleague over a discussion about road trips in California. I had tried for months comparing prices with quite a few travel operators for travel to California in 2025. I was advised to try Travel Planners for their competitive prices, and personal customer services. Having given them a try, I was put through to Paula Stanton whom I gave my proposed itinerary.
Shirin
Shirin couldn't have done any more for me. She was so polite, helpful and full of enthusiasm. Thank you Shirin.
