10 reasons why you should visit Universal Studios Orlando for your Easter Holidays

The Easter holidays are soon upon us, and if you’re undecided on where to go, you may as well stop searching now, because Universal Studios Orlando is the perfect place for your Easter break.

Here are 10 reasons why you should visit Universal Studios in Orlando for your Easter holidays, especially if you’re travelling with children:

1)    Orlando is the Theme Park Capital of the World
You’ll be spoilt for choice with the amazing selection of theme parks in Orlando, but we’re here to recommend our personal favourite – Universal Studios.

There are rides and attractions in the park for everyone in the family – whether that’s for young children – who would love the fun-packed Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride – or something for adults, like the white-knuckle Revenge of the Mummy roller coaster.

2)    Stay at the Resort
Ranging from the laid-back accommodation to luxury suites, Universal Orlando Resort has five terrific on-site resorts to choose from. If you’re with the family, stay at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort, a 50’s themed hotel that features two swimming pools and a bowling alley. If you prefer a more tropical themed setting, Loews Pacific Royal Resort is the perfect destination for you.

3)    Night Time = Party Time
Don’t fall under the misconception that the fun stops when the sun goes down at Universal Studios. Quite the opposite. Universal’s CityWalk is a popular hotspot after the park’s rides and attractions close for the day. The district is full of pumping nightclubs, themed restaurants and theatre performances from the ever-famous Blue Man Group.

4)    Restaurants out of the Movies
You can work up quite an appetite walking around the park all day, so why not check out the restaurants that feature in shows like The Simpsons and movies like Harry Potter. Visit the Springfield area of the park and head to Krusty Burger or Moe’s Tavern for meals that would satisfy even Homer and Bart. Check out the Wizarding World of Harry Potter for a magical feast at the famous Mythos restaurant.

5)    Escape to Warmer Climes
We can never guess what the weather is going to be like in the UK at any time of the year, but spring in Orlando is almost always sunny! With temperatures reaching a balmy 25° – 30°, what better time can there be to refresh yourself on splashtastic water rides?!

6)    Ride the waves at Volcano Bay
One of Universal Studios Orlando’s newer attractions, Volcano Bay is not to be missed! There are several water rides and attractions in this area – including the strong current river, where your strength as a swimmer is sure to be tested.

There is also a lazy river area for children to enjoy under the supervision of parents. The most popular ride in the Bay is the Krakatau Aqua Coaster, where you can expect to be drenched from top to bottom.

7)    See the kids meet their heroes
If your kids spend most of their time at home watching cartoons like Spongebob Squarepants and Scooby Doo, they’ll be in for a real treat. Around the park they’ll find their beloved characters in their full attire, ready to take photographs. Superheroes like Spiderman and The Incredible Hulk will be wandering around waiting for their little admirers to come and give them a big hug.

8)    Get the VIP Treatment
If you want to do Universal Studios the right way, we heavily recommend getting the VIP package. You can skip ALL the lines and have your own personal guide for all the great places to hit up at the best of times in the day. Your helpful guide isn’t just there to show you around, they will happily take your family photos and hold on to your belongings while you enjoy the rides.

9)     See dolphins and other beauties of the cean
Just because you’re at Universal Studios, it doesn’t mean you can’t go and check out what’s nearby to the resort. The Florida Dolphins Tour is one of the best things to do with the family – there are safari tours, crocodile watching, aquariums and many more exciting things to do and see here. On this excursion you can expect to be entertained and educated by the experts about the wildlife at the sanctuary.

10)    Hey big spender! Hit the brand outlets
Approximately ten minutes away from the resort is the Orlando International Premium Outlets, where you can find big name brand stores such as Nike, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren and Victoria’s Secret.

A perfect day out for people who are looking to shop till they drop all in one location.

These are only 10 reasons why Universal Studios Orlando is the perfect place to go for your Easter break, but you’ll be able to find plenty more during your stay. Whether you’re looking to kick back and immerse yourself in the magic of the resort, or want to experience the ultimate thrill riding some of the most hair-raising rollercoasters in the world, the park has everything to make your Easter unforgettable.
