Disney brings it’s very own part of an African Serengeti to Orlando, Florida with this lodge style Resort set within a 46-acre wildlife preserve. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is located in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
As you walk into the lobby, awaiting you is 16-foot Ijele mask, the first of its kind to ever leave Nigeria. All rooms sleep 4 people comfortably. Located near the Samawati Springs Pool is the Uwanja Camp, this is an interactive playground divided into 3 areas. Observation Station: children 4 years and younger. Departure Zone: children aged 5 to 7. Base Camp: children of 8 years and older. A 24 hour games arcade, with classic and new games in entertainment can be found in Puumba’s Fun and Games Arcade. Hakuna Matata is a 24 hour playground where children can climb, shoot down the slides and just have loads of fun.
Grab a map from reception and plan your route around this vast resort, whether it be a comfortable stroll or a jog around the 0.16 mile jogging track around Uzima Pool. You can buy all your Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge goodies from Johari Treasures, anything from toys to t-shirts, to gifts and sweets – make sure you take a small piece of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge home with you.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge offers a choice of 2 pools. Samawati Springs pool, is an impressive 4,700 square foot, zero depth entry and includes a 128 foot long slide to thrill all the family. Why not chill out and listen to the sounds of the savannah in one of 2 hot tubs in Samawati Springs. Alternatively Uzima Pool is even larger at 11,000 square foot, again zero entry; this time includes a 67foot long slide – Perfect for cooling off and catching some of that Florida sun. Again 2 hot tubs provide the perfect area for relaxation.
After an afternoon of splashing in the pools, Simba’s Cubhouse Children’s Activity Centre is conveniently located on the first floor near the Uzima pool deck. Children aged 3-12 years can come here from 4.30pm and enjoy all sorts of activities, games, Disney’s themed movies all through to midnight leaving the adults free to explore at their leisure what Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge has for them.
Have a massage at Zahanti Massage Centre, where they provide a range of massage therapy, skin care and body treatments – or simply relax in the sauna. There is also the Zahnati Fitness Centre featuring all the latest exercise technology including weights, treadmills, bicycles and much more – open from 6am to 9pm, at no additional charge. Please note guests under the age of 14 are not allowed to use the fitness centre. Teens aged 14-17 must be accompanied by an adult to use the centre.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is conveniently located in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park Buses are available to take you to the magic that all of Disney has to offer. Complimentary buses run from Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge an hour before the Disney Parks open and up to an hour after the official park closing times. Complimentary buses run until 2am from Disney Springs where you will find endless entertainment venues.
