Experience some of the  the best that California has to offer with an exciting and luxurious Multi Centre Fly Drive Adventure from San Francisco to Los Angeles that includes stop overs at Santa Barbara, Yosemite, Sonoma and the Big Sur.  California here we come!

San Francisco

Enjoy San Franciscan opulence at its very finest at the Fairmont. A high standard of service is met with an unbeatable location in the heart of San Francisco, near Union Square, Fisherman’s Wharf and the financial district. Sophisticated, chic rooms blend modern comforts and an exquisite, historical flair with the Signature Golden Gate Suites, offering panoramic views out over San Francisco, the Bay.

San Francisco has an immense range of attractions including the infamous Alcatraz cruise, Golden Gate Park, Fisherman’s Wharf, 200 parks and beaches, world-class shopping and evening entertainment. One of the best ways to see the sights is to book a double-decker bus tour of the city, mission accomplished. All packed into less than 47 square miles, San Francisco is exciting, diverse and cosmopolitan.

Downtown San Francisco is a village of museums, Union Square hosts the impressive theatre district, visit Lincoln Park for the most staggering view of the Golden Gate Bridge and visit the Legion of Honour, World War One memorial. When the sun goes down, the choices are endless with Jazz, bars, bistros and restaurants located in Mission District and Union Square to name but a few.

Sonoma

Tucked away in the heart of the famous Sonoma Valley the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa offers guests the finest services, from a spectacular spa with a choice of pools, to a Michelin-rated restaurant and access to complimentary fitness and wellness amenities, such as hikes, fitness classes and yoga sessions.

Sonoma is in the heart of the wine making region in California, making it an ideal spot for a vineyard tour or a wine tasting at a family-run winery. Sonoma county itself is home to more than 425 wineries, so there’s certainly no shortage of wineries to explore and enjoy a glass of locally-grown wine under the golden Californian sunshine at Sonoma Plaza, the largest plaza in California, and is at the beating heart of Sonoma itself. With stunning historical architecture blending European influences with Californian living, it’s an ideal spot for shopping and dining.

Yosemite

Globally-renowned as an AAA four diamond hotel the Ahwahnee incorporates the natural beauty of Yosemite National Park in its décor. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the hotel perfectly balances sophistication and historical charm to offer guests unparalleled luxury. The Ahwahnee features fabulous amenities, including a gift shop, focused on local artisans, sweet shop, cosy bar and a heated outdoor swimming pool.

Yosemite is one of America’s oldest and most famous national parks, attracting over four million visitors annually drawn to the park by the rugged natural beauty of the area and the abundance of activities and world famous destinations scattered throughout the park. Iconic landmarks include the awe inspiring El Capitan, the world’s tallest granite monolith and world famous climbing destination, as well as the Sequoias trees at Mariposa Grove. Popular activities in Yosemite National Park include: Hiking With over 800 miles of hiking trails available there’s the perfect hiking trail for you and your travelling companions. Fishing A multitude of mountain lakes and permanent streams provide anglers with a superb choice of world class sport and fly fishing throughout the season. Other popular leisure pursuits include camping and backpacking, wildlife and birdwatching, river rafting, kayaking, zip lining, skiing and other winter sports and more.

Big Sur

The Ventana Big Sur is nestled in a forest in the sensational landscapes amongst mountains, redwoods and near the sea. Ventana is Spanish for window, and this is truly reflected in the resort’s ambiance, which draws inspiration from its idyllic surroundings. Extensive amenities include fitness facilities, 160 acres of grounds, spa, upscale ocean-view dining at The Sur House, Japanese hot baths and pools. The $50 Ventana experience fee also offers guests access to hikes, organic garden tours, meditation classes, yoga classes and Sommelier wine and cheese hours.

Beyond the fabulous resort grounds, Big Sur is home to the breath-taking Bixby Creek Bridge, one of the most photographed bridges in California. By the coast, sea otters can be spotted swimming among the kelp. Big Sur is famed for its rural beauty and coastal charm, and  being sparsely populated, it’s one of the most tranquil places in California. Hiking trails and state parks are certainly not in short supply, and neither are spectacular beaches with dramatic cliff faces.

Santa Barbara

Boasting the best views of the American Riviera around, the Belmond El Encanto is set across 7 acres of peaceful gardens for you to unwind. Restored from its former 1920s old Hollywood glamour to a chic resort incorporating Spanish-colonial styling and modern Californian living into a sophisticated guest experience. Sumptuous spa facilities are met with divine dining choices, including The Lounge- ideal for an afternoon tea, or The Dining Room & Terrace, well-appointed with panoramic views of the ocean.

Head out to the local Santa Ynez Valley, situated just 30 minutes away, to sample some of California’s best wine tasting destinations at the wineries or enjoy exciting times exploring the incredible coastline, nearby parks, hiking trails, museums (such as the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum or the modern Santa Barbara Museum of Art), and shopping of Santa Barbara and its surrounding area. Be sure to visit the historic Santa Barbara Mission and take a stroll along State Street where you’ll find a host of fancy shopping outlets and trendy restaurants waiting to be discovered.

Los Angeles

Opened in 1955, the Beverly Hilton hotel combines old Hollywood glamour and modern Californian chic. Spoilt for choice with first-class amenities, including a 24 hour fitness centre, Bellezza Salon, Accents Gift Boutique, upscale dining at CIRCA 55 restaurant and bar, luxurious pool, lobby lounge area with Starbucks Coffee and concierge services. Every room includes Wi-Fi access, Bose Wave® music system, Egyptian cotton linens, safe, and iPad with guest services, luxury bath products and a 47-inch LCD TV.

Rediscover your inner adventurer and go hiking in the iconic Hollywood Hills for stunning views of the Los Angeles skyline or even surf the waves at Santa Monica, ensuring you’ve visited the Santa Monica Pier for an adrenaline rush with unforgettable views. If you’re pining for a more sophisticated take on LA, be sure to go Celebrity Spotting in West Hollywood or even for a memorable shopping experience like no other on the luxurious Rodeo Drive, boasting designer boutiques from world-renowned brands such as Chanel and Louis Vuitton. Ensure you get the best views of the twinkling LA lights from a rooftop bar, and sip an exotic cocktail whilst admiring the night sky and reminiscing about the amazing memories you’ve already made on the trip.

Tyler
Tyler is your man! After having tried the high street and ‘main stream’ travel agents and tried to have a go at building our own holiday with little success I decided to email Travel Planners late one night with a rough outline of our hopes for a multi destination trip to America. The very next morning I received a call from Tyler Vockel.
Paula
This travel company was recommended to me by a work colleague over a discussion about road trips in California. I had tried for months comparing prices with quite a few travel operators for travel to California in 2025. I was advised to try Travel Planners for their competitive prices, and personal customer services. Having given them a try, I was put through to Paula Stanton whom I gave my proposed itinerary.
Shirin
Shirin couldn't have done any more for me. She was so polite, helpful and full of enthusiasm. Thank you Shirin.
