Salt Lake City, Utah

It’s the start of your amazing 13 night Western adventure and a two night stay in the comfortable and well-appointed Salt Lake City Downtown Marriot Hotel. The hotel has an onsite restaurant, a fitness centre and comfortable rooms with home from home comforts that include coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave, and smart TVs with Netflix, Hulu, Pandora and YouTube channels. The hotel’s great downtown location in the heart of Salt Lake City makes this Marriott hotel a wonderful base to find out all about Salt Lake City and the surrounding area.

Located in the heart of the city, Temple Square is a three block plaza that’s home to nearly 20 attractions with connections to the Church of the Latter day Saints and it is the most visited attraction in Utah with over 3 million visitors each year. Temple Square highlights include the towering Salt Lake Temple and the Gothic–style assembly hall which offers historical insights into the development of the Mormon Church. The square is also home to the Family History Library, the largest geology library in the world – it’s got to be on your Salt Lake City to do list!

Discover lots and lots about earth, science and space at the Clark Planetarium – it’s only a mile or so from the hotel and well worth a visit. Jump back in time to find out what life was like for the Native Americans, miners and early pioneers with a visit to Heritage Park. Of course no visit to Salt lake City would be complete without a visit to the Great Salt Lake itself and if time permits head to the Snowbird Tram for an amazing ride to the top of an 11,000 foot mountain.

Jackson Wyoming

It’s time to leave Salt Lake and head to Jackson Wyoming for a one night stay at the luxurious Lodge at Jackson Hole located just minutes from the lively bars, restaurants and other attractions of Jackson’s historic Town Square.

Yellowstone National Park

Next stop is one of America’s most famous icons, the world famous Yellowstone National Park where we’ll spend three nights at the Explorer Cabins at Yellowstone passing Grand Teton National Park on our way to the sensational scenery and spectacular wildlife of Yellowstone.

Cosy and comfortable the resorts rustic cabins are handily located close to the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Centre just half a mile or so from the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park with ample free parking.

Featuring local artwork and modern amenities your cabin home has free Wi-Fi, flat screen TV, mp3 players and fully equipped kitchenettes and outdoor porches to relax on after your day’s adventurers. There’s also an outdoor fire pit, access to an indoor swimming pool, a fitness centre and hot tubs.

Organised tours are a great way to see the majestic scenery of Yellowstone in comfort, let the tour’s informative guide tell you all about the history of Yellowstone National Park as you gaze at an array of amazing wildlife such as bears, elk and bison – if you’re lucky you might even spot a roaming wolf pack!

Of course no trip to Yellowstone would be complete without watching “Old Faithfull” erupt. Watching this amazing geyser erupt is a Yellowstone National Park tradition and not to be missed and while you’re in this section of the park be sure to pay a visit to the Old Faithfull Inn.

Other Yellowstone highlights include the waterfalls at the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, the hot pools and geysers on Firehole Lake Drive, Yellowstone Lake, and the bison and wolf spotting mecca of the Lamar Valley.

Cody, Wyoming

It’s time to tear ourselves away from the wonders of Yellowstone and continue on our way to Cody for a one night stay at the comfortable and welcoming Holiday Inn Cody at Buffalo Bill Village conveniently located just a short drive from the Buffalo Bill Centre of the West.

The hotel’s guestrooms are spacious with modern amenities and there’s also an outdoor pool with a, fitness centre, a casual on site restaurants and there’s also plenty of free parking.

The Old Trail Town, a collection of historic western buildings is just a short drive from the Holiday Inn and Buffalo Bill State Park is just over 11 miles away. Of course no visit to Cody would be complete without a visit to the Buffalo Bill Centre of the West, a fascinating complex of five museums including the Buffalo Bill Museum, the Plains Indian Museum, the Cody Firearms Museum and the Draper Natural History Museum – and best of all, it’s only a five minute drive away from the hotel.

Sheridan, Wyoming

Back on the road again as we drive past the Bighorn National Forest on our way to the Holiday Inn, Sheridan for another one night stopover. Once you’ve checked into the hotel and checked out the hotel’s facilities that include a state of the art fitness centre and a heated indoor pool it’s time to start discovering the amazing cowboy heritage of Sheridan and the surrounding area.

Popular local attractions include the Bradford Briton Memorial & Museum showcasing life on a working ranch during the 19202 and 30’s alongside a gallery of stunning collection of Native American art and artefacts as well as Sheridan’s historic downtown buildings. Other interesting museums include the collection of cowboy and Western memorabilia at the Don King Museum and for a once in a lifetime experience make the trip to the Little Bighorn Battlefield Memorial.

Rapid City, South Dakota

It’s time to leave Wyoming and say hello to South Dakota for a two night stay at the warm and welcoming Holiday Inn Rapid City. This rapid city gem has a wonderful location close to some of the the area’s most outstanding attractions including the Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Badlands National Park, Wind Cave National Park and the Crazy Horse Memorial.
