About Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Description

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is the ultimate experience in opulent luxury and as the flagship hotel of Walt Disney World® Resort, combines stately Victorian charm and architecture with extravagant modern day luxuries. This stunning setting is complete with accommodation in six striking red-gabled buildings. The breathtaking welcome of the five story main lobby area featuring two sparkling chandeliers will start your visit with style and glamour.

The setting is one of tropical grandeur with views of the surrounding Seven Seas Lagoon, sparkling pools, Cinderella’s Castle and iconic wedding pavilion. Evenings are filled with Movie’s Under the Stars and the spectacular nightly Disney’s Magic Kingdom fireworks. Being the closest resort to the Magic Kingdom Park it is possible to walk to the theme park along a newly added path; less than a one mile scenic stroll. There’s lots of ways to get around; either water taxi across the Seven Seas Lagoon, take the bus to the Disney theme parks and Disney Springs area or ride through the sky on the Walt Disney World® monorail.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has 2 swimming pool options; the Beach Pool overlooking Seven Seas Lagoon, perfect for the family or nervous swimmers with a zero depth entry feature. It comes complete with a 181 foot waterslide, cascading waterfalls and whirlpool spa to ease those tired muscles after a long day of exploring. The serene natural springs themed setting gives it a tropical ambience and a walking bridge provides a fun place to see friends and family whizzing down the water slide. Younger members of the family have their own adjacent aquatic play area. A more tranquil pool experience can be found at the Courtyard Pool which is located nearby the luxurious spa. Treat yourself to your own cabana with personal service from an attentive Cast Member. Relax near the water’s edge in your very own private space with plush furnishings, towels, 32-inch flat-screen television with cable, DVD/CD/MP3 player, and a mini refrigerator filled with soft drinks and water. Top it off with a poolside massage; paradise has arrived.

This flawless 5* resort has its own soft white sandy beach surrounded by the crystal waters of the Seven Seas Lagoon. Laze on the beach while the kids go on their own Disney’s Pirate Adventure (ages 4-12 years old). Adorned with pirate bandanas they will follow clues to search for buried treasure. They will sail to exotic ports of call (resort marinas), enjoy a pirate story and split up the buried treasure at the end of a fabulous pirate experience. Loved by all children book this one early to avoid disappointment.

A popular destination for golf with no less than five championship Walt Disney World® golf courses offering preferred access for Grand Florida Resort & Spa guests. The jogging trail to Disney’s Polynesian Resort will provide exercise and fresh air, teamed with beautiful views of both resorts.

Disney®’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has the unique and relaxing experience not be missed at Movies Under The Stars. By the pool or beach watch your favourite Disney movie under the stars. For that special occasion or a romantic evening escape on the Fireworks Cruise or Intimate Dining Cruise.

During the day take the family out for an adventure on the Seven Seas Lagoon, a man-made body of water serving as an aquatic red carpet to the Magic Kingdom park. The history of the lagoon is incredible, planned originally back in October 1965, more than 7 million cubic yards of earth was moved to create this serene body of water. It consists of three small islands; Blackbeard Island, Castaway Cay and Beachcomber Island. Historically Castaway Cay has been the launching point for perimeter fireworks at Magic Kingdom park.
