Suggested Stop: Bryce Canyon
Continue towards Bryce Canyon National Park and discover a landscape that looks almost otherworldly.
Thousands of colourful rock formations, known as hoodoos, rise from the canyon floor. Sunrise and sunset are particularly spectacular, while scenic viewpoints make it easy to appreciate the scale of this remarkable destination.
Suggested Stop: Capitol Reef
Next, consider Capitol Reef National Park, one of Utah’s lesser-known treasures.
Here, colourful cliffs, canyons and desert landscapes surround the extraordinary Waterpocket Fold. Scenic drives and hiking trails offer plenty of ways to explore. Meanwhile, the quieter surroundings provide a contrast to some of Utah’s better-known parks.
Suggested Stop: Moab & Arches National Park
Moab is one of America’s great outdoor adventure towns and an excellent base for exploring eastern Utah.
Nearby Arches National Park contains more than 2,000 natural stone arches. Delicate Arch may be the superstar, but spectacular rock formations appear throughout the park.
Back in Moab, you’ll find restaurants, shops and plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventure.

From Moab, you could also explore the immense landscapes of Canyonlands National Park.
Carved by the Colorado and Green Rivers, this vast wilderness features deep canyons, towering rock formations and seemingly endless desert views. Island in the Sky is particularly accessible and offers some spectacular viewpoints.

Continue towards Page in northern Arizona, another excellent stopping point surrounded by natural wonders.
Walk out to Horseshoe Bend and watch the Colorado River curve dramatically through the sandstone landscape below. Page is also a popular gateway for exploring Lake Powell and the incredible slot canyons of the surrounding area.
