About Rocky Mountaineer Train & Alaskan Cruise

From the Rockies to the Inside Passage

Experience two of North America’s greatest adventures in one unforgettable holiday. Travel from Calgary through the spectacular Canadian Rockies on Rocky Mountaineer’s legendary First Passage to the West journey, before arriving in Vancouver and boarding 5-star Koningsdam for seven nights exploring Alaska’s magnificent Inside Passage.

From turquoise lakes and towering mountains to glaciers, wildlife and historic Alaskan towns, this is Canada and Alaska at their spectacular best.

Begin in Calgary

Your adventure starts in Calgary, gateway to the Canadian Rockies and the starting point for an incredible six-night Rocky Mountaineer experience.

From here, leave the city behind and head towards the mountains, where some of Canada’s most famous landscapes await.

Discover Banff & Lake Louise

Journey into the heart of the Canadian Rockies, surrounded by soaring peaks, forests and spectacular alpine scenery.

Explore beautiful Banff and experience the unforgettable surroundings of Lake Louise, one of Canada’s most photographed destinations.

Then it’s time to board Rocky Mountaineer and experience the Rockies from a completely different perspective.

First Passage to the West

Travel aboard Rocky Mountaineer on its legendary First Passage to the West route towards Vancouver.

Sit back and enjoy spectacular views through oversized windows as the train travels past mountains, rushing rivers, dramatic canyons and remote landscapes inaccessible by road.

Travel through the legendary Spiral Tunnels and cross the Continental Divide before continuing through British Columbia towards Kamloops. After an overnight hotel stay, rejoin Rocky Mountaineer for another spectacular day travelling towards the Pacific and Vancouver.

With incredible scenery, attentive onboard service and meals served as the landscape unfolds outside, Rocky Mountaineer makes the journey every bit as memorable as the destinations.

From the Rockies to the Ocean

Arrive in Vancouver, but your adventure is far from over.

Next, board Holland America Line’s 5-star Koningsdam for a seven-night Alaska Inside Passage cruise, sailing round-trip from Vancouver. Koningsdam combines elegant accommodation, excellent dining and entertainment with fantastic opportunities to enjoy the scenery as you sail north.

Alaska’s Inside Passage

Cruise through one of the most spectacular regions of North America, surrounded by forest-covered islands, mountains, fjords and pristine wilderness.

Your journey includes calls at three classic Alaskan destinations: Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan. You’ll also experience scenic cruising through the Inside Passage and visit magnificent Glacier Bay National Park, where towering glaciers meet the sea.

In Juneau, discover Alaska’s remote state capital and its spectacular natural surroundings. Step back into Gold Rush history in Skagway, while colourful Ketchikan combines First Nations heritage, historic streets and beautiful coastal scenery.

Glacier Bay National Park

One of the great highlights of your Alaska cruise is Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve.

Surrounded by snow-covered mountains and immense glaciers, you’ll cruise through this protected wilderness with National Park Rangers joining the ship to provide insight into its landscapes and wildlife.

Keep watch from the decks for whales, sea lions, eagles and other wildlife as Koningsdam explores Alaska’s extraordinary coastline.
